Can drug addicts drink alcohol?

I have got a serious kind of question that could quite possibly sound basic, though if you stop to think about it, it’s a particularly brilliant question. The question is: should drug addicts ingest alcohol? Can folks that are addicted to drugs or who have been addicted to drugs ingest alcohol without creating an addiction to alcohol? Obviously, there are people that struggle because of drug addictions, if they are in the past or present, everyday. These men and women may also drink alcohol, a different addicting substance. Will they develop an addiction to that substance based off of their substance addiction? I’m sure I’m not really going to get one particular answer from this. I’m certain there are numerous answers out there and suggestions which people can fight over. But what’s the overall consensus?

The reason I ask is i actually have known several drug addicts which began drinking. They both developed unique responses to the alcohol. So currently I feel a touch perplexed on exactly what the particular solution is to this sort of a question. I had this friend, Adam, who had been a using drug addict when he commenced to drink fairly heavily. He was actually addicted to cocaine and some type of pain killer pills. He was a splendid person in general, and yet when he was high on these things, it was just plain strange. It was clear this individual had a predicament and needed help, yet he wouldn’t go for it and no one came for him. Then this person started out drinking. He speedily became an alcoholic as well. Basically, Basically, he would require a specific percentage of cocaine, pain killer pills, then alcohol everyday to be able to function. It ended up being clear he had harmful addictions to both, and these had to be managed in rehab as co-occurring disorders.

On the other hand, I had yet another friend, Nicole, who had been a substance addict, went to therapy with regard to drug addiction, came back out, proceeded to go right back to normal life, drank alcoholic beverages in social settings, and was in fact fine. This is what confuses. She essentially was put through treatments for the habit forming substance as well as for this ailment of addiction itself. I was under the impression that they are educated to avoid all addictive drugs there after as it will be a lot more likely that these people may end up getting addicted to alcoholic beverages themselves. However, However, the lady was in fact and is absolutely fine. She would actually drink alcohol a great deal at some public settings and be fine.

So, what precisely is it? Can illegal substance addicts consume alcohol? Is it feasible for these types of individuals to be able to engage in this additional addicting substance without becoming addiction? I guess that it’s certainly likely that addiction will form. That doesn’t indicate that it’s for sure though.
