How does drug dependency starts? Can we trace the way a normal person goes through dependency? Everything usually starts with an individual knowing someone who uses drugs. This drug user would be liable to want to take on his friends to also take up on drugs. There is a high chance that the individual would say yes to the appeal request of his friend. This individual would begin his drug use by using a very small amount. A very controllable effect would be given off by this small amount.

Drug dependency is likely to develop when an individual tends to center his or her attention on drugs. This drug dependent individual is likely cannot cope up with the stress of everyday life without drug use.

There is a big change in one’s behavior and health when drug dependency happens. Usually, these behavioral and health changes affects not just the person who uses drugs but even on the people around him. It can cause strains in relationships. These changes can even be fatal. With these negative changes, there is a great chance that the addict would want to stop drug use. However, making a n addict discontinue the use of drugs is quite next to unworkable due to the result it produces. It produces withdrawal symptoms because dependency or addiction has now been reached.

Withdrawal symptoms is of many types. Certain drugs gives certain withdrawals symptoms. However, there are general symptoms despite the difference in drug use. These general symptoms of withdrawal are muscular pains, anxiety, nausea, shaking, and vomiting. Sometimes, confusion and hallucinations can also include in withdrawal symptoms. These withdrawal symptoms do not just obstruct with the daily activities of the individual but it can also be very dangerous. Treatment should be put to mind.

There are many ways in which drug dependency can be treated. Most of these treatments are usually done individually. The treatment of drug dependency usually includes the combining of therapies such as drug therapy, psychological therapy, and self-help techniques. The process of controlling the drug being used by the individual is called drug therapy. This controlled drug use would then lead to a decreased in the quantity of drug being used. This would prevent withdrawal symptoms that are very dangerous. Psychological therapy for drug dependency includes the counseling of the addict’s family and the methods to help change some negative behaviors. On the other hand, self-help techniques are the process by which the addict itself seeks help from books and other sources. To avoid danger, it is important to live our life without the use of unnecessary drugs.

Drug dependency is the condition of the person’s body to not function well when the use of drug does not happen.
