When you turn on your TV these days, you will often hear of celebrities and other public figures abusing prescription medication. While not all celebrities misuse drugs, being highly visible certainly gets them far more interest. The most serious and major news of prescription medicine misuse was with the death of pop legend Michael Jackson. The artist, after his death, found to be abusing Propofol and a cocktail of other prescription drugs.
Prescription drugs don’t work like typical leisure drugs. These drugs affect the taker by changing the mood or removing pain. However, because of its subtle yet effective manifestations, people who take them normally never want the feeling to vanish. Consequently, they take increasingly more volumes to increase the effects of the drugs. Needless to say, with all kinds of abuse there is often a threshold where the body will take no more. In the long run, all this results in an overdose.
